Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Correia (ranked 1486 p4p, 1901 weight class) and Andrew Nichols (ranked 185 p4p, 227 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Paulo Correia has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Paulo Correia seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Nichols!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Correia is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Nichols.
Correia swinging wildly here.
Nichols buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Nichols dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Correia. That did some damage!
Nichols lands with a thumping leg kick.
Nichols lands a glancing blow to the side of Correia's head.
Nichols moves out of range as Correia strikes.
Nichols swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Nichols ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Correia moves away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Nichols. Correia does a little dance to reset his feet.
Correia looks to land a left hand but Nichols moved out of range nicely.

Correia throws a nice looking combination but Nichols bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nichols tries a quick counter leg kick but Correia is wise to it.
Nichols is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Nichols slips a straight right by Correia.
Nichols misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Correia.
Nichols steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Correia. That one must have hurt.
Correia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Nichols was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Nichols looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Correia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Nichols moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Correia swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nichols throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nichols goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
It looked like Correia wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Correia lands with a nice combination. Nichols backs away looking to recover.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nichols misses the jab.
Correia thuds his shin into the meat of Nichols's side.
Correia connects with a solid leg kick.

Correia fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
A combination from Correia does no damage.

Nichols let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Correia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Oooooh!!! Correia has knocked Nichols down with a huge combo! Correia steps away and waves a wobbly Nichols back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!
Nichols is rocked!
Nichols walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Nichols limp body while Correia jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paulo Correia!
Paulo Correia tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
