Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tavon Shebu (ranked 2756 p4p, 2312 weight class) and Chief Chumbo (ranked 363 p4p, 311 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tavon Shebu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Chief Chumbo!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Emerson Jorge and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chumbo lands with a right hand.
We've been told by Shebu's head coaches at Canucks Combat Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Shebu wants to clinch up but Chumbo keeps it at a distance.
Chumbo misses with a hook. Shebu ducked under it nicely.

Nice uppercut lands for Chumbo. That snapped Shebu's head back.

and Chumbo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Shebu's guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Shebu has a takedown stuffed.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shebu.
Chumbo cracks Shebu with a right hand to the side of the head.
Chumbo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Chumbo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shebu tries to avoid it but Chumbo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shebu to the ground. Shebu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Chumbo shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Shebu pinned against the cage. Shebu gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tavon Shebu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chief Chumbo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shebu looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Shebu closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Chumbo felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Chumbo and the ref steps in to end the fight! Chumbo can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
