Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ernie Tertelgte (ranked 450 p4p, 772 weight class) and Ernest Graves (ranked 52 p4p, 91 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ernie Tertelgte!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ernest Graves!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Phil Schofield and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Graves closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tertelgte did well to prevent Graves getting side control.

Graves is working for a submission of some sort.
Tertelgte is holding on to half guard well.
Graves looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
We've been hearing good reports from Tertelgte's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Graves is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tertelgte regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Graves.
Graves won't allow Tertelgte to get back to his feet.

Graves postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Tertelgte bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Graves's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Graves controls Tertelgte momentarily but Tertelgte frees himself.

Graves has a hand on Tertelgte's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Tertelgte takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Graves manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Graves felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well, if Tertelgte is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Graves is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Graves is looking for a kimura but Tertelgte is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Graves to get the leverage.

Graves stalling away here and it's allowed Tertelgte to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Tertelgte moves to clinch but Graves breaks away
and Graves counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Tertelgte pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Tertelgte lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Graves at a distance.
Tertelgte keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Graves.
Graves darts in looking for a takedown but Tertelgte gets double underhooks and turns Graves into the cage.
Graves has his takedown stuffed
and Tertelgte counters with a nice body shot.
Tertelgte misses with a body kick.
Tertelgte misses with an uppercut. Graves saw that one coming.
Graves dives in for a single leg takedown but Tertelgte sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Ernie Tertelgte has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ernest Graves.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Tertelgte slaps away a takedown attempt from Graves, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Tertelgte throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Graves on the side of the head.

It looks like Ernest Graves has been cut.

Graves fails with a takedown attempt.
Graves shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tertelgte pinned against the cage. Tertelgte gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Tertelgte seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Graves on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Graves is rocked!
Graves looks up at the clock. Bad move! Tertelgte lands a right hand from hell, dropping Graves. Tertelgte pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ernie Tertelgte!
A relieved looking Ernie Tertelgte thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
