The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson works over Jan's head and body with a nice combination.
Jan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Jackson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Jackson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jan.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jan has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Jackson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Jan looks for a takedown but Jackson sprawls well.
Jackson takes a swing at Jan's ribcage but misses.
Jackson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
