Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pierre Ragout Mendy (ranked 2803 p4p, 6233 weight class) and Jure Jez (ranked 362 p4p, 633 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pierre Ragout Mendy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Jure Jez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mendy manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Mendy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This has been an exciting period of action!
An elbow from Mendy crashes against the mat.
Jez dodges the ground and pound from Mendy.
Mendy happy to just control the position for now.
Jez tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Mendy misses with the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jez is trying to work for a sweep but Mendy has mounted him!
Jez is trying desperately to improve position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Mendy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jez tries to lock up and control but Mendy gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We've been hearing that Mendy has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
