Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Harkonnen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Klitscho!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klitscho throws a wild body kick that Harkonnen sees coming a mile off.
Klitscho finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Klitscho tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Harkonnen swivels and escapes.
A jab-cross combination lands for Klitscho and sends Harkonnen crashing to the mat! Klitscho follows him down to the mat - Harkonnen regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


It looks like Vladimir Harkonnen has been cut.

Harkonnen is defending against the submission attempts here by Klitscho.

Harkonnen looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Harkonnen tries to roll over but Klitscho keeps him under control.
Klitscho is controlling the pace.
Klitscho tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harkonnen is trying to get back to full guard.
Klitscho is thwarting Harkonnen's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Harkonnen has his hands clasped together around Klitscho's back. He's all about the action.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Harkonnen doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Klitscho counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Klitscho really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Harkonnen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Harkonnen looking for a sweep. Not yet Harkonnen, not yet.
Klitscho trying to control but Harkonnen is working from the bottom.

Klitscho avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Klitscho wanted to stand there but Harkonnen had control of the position.
Klitscho slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Klitscho trying to control but Harkonnen is working from the bottom.
Klitscho wants to stand but Harkonnen has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Harkonnen manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Harkonnen wants to control the pace but Klitscho is squirming around nicely.

Harkonnen is working for a guillotine from mount but Klitscho frees his head quite easily.

Harkonnen working for a submission but Klitscho is keeping him at bay.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Klitscho can do anything to dispel that myth.

Harkonnen jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Klitscho is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Klitscho and Harkonnen has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Klitscho can't do much from the bottom here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Klitscho is looking to reverse the position.
Harkonnen taking a break here but Klitscho is having none of it and regains half guard.
Klitscho is staying active underneath Harkonnen, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Harkonnen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Klitscho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Klitscho dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Vladimir Harkonnen's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Klitscho throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Harkonnen.
Klitscho fails with an attempt to clinch.
Harkonnen with a lazy takedown attempt
and Klitscho counters with a left and a right that stings Harkonnen.
Harkonnen doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Klitscho holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Harkonnen drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Klitscho gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vladimir Harkonnen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Harkonnen stalls.

Harkonnen jumps guard.
Klitscho controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Harkonnen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Harkonnen trying to keep a closed guard but Klitscho is proving a slippery customer.
Klitscho showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Harkonnen controls Klitscho momentarily but Klitscho frees himself.
Klitscho won't allow Harkonnen to sweep him here.
Harkonnen throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Klitscho advances position into side control!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Harkonnen is looking for a sweep.
Klitscho tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Harkonnen tries to improve position but can't.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Klitscho thows a body shot but no joy.

Harkonnen gets the takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Klitscho struggling a bit here.
Harkonnen working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

Harkonnen is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Klitscho is trying to escape and Harkonnen transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Klitscho is forced to tap! Nice work there by Harkonnen! Very nice indeed!
