Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryan Kausch! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roy Madman! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Franklyn Lucas and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Some wild striking there from Madman.
Madman lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Madman.
It looks like Ryan Kausch has been cut. Kausch has closed the distance and engaged Madman in a clinch.
Kausch jumps into guard, dragging Madman to the mat.
Madman preventing the sweep. Kausch pulls Madman in close to prevent any damage. Madman trying to stand up but can't free himself from Kausch's guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kausch holds on and takes a little breather.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Madman wants to stand but Kausch has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kausch is adopting a defensive guard. Madman wants to stand and escape but instead Kausch has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Madman is trying to hold Kausch in close to prevent damage but Kausch has managed to pass into half guard.
Kausch is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kausch working for a submission but Madman is keeping him at bay. Kausch controlling from mount.
The referee stands the fighters back up. Ryan Kausch just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. A combination from Madman does no damage. Madman tries to bum rush Kausch with a series of wild strikes but Kausch uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Ryan Kausch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kausch swats away the attempt to clinch by Madman. Madman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Madman looks gassed! Kausch swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Kausch decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Kausch looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Madman wants to control but Kausch is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kausch looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Madman is trying to stand up here but Kausch is controlling him well. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kausch prevents Madman from standing back up.
Kausch looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Madman pushes Kausch off looking to stand but Kausch dives back in and keeps control.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kausch scores with a nice body kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kausch darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Kausch works his way into side control. Madman is looking to regain half guard here but Kausch keeps moving and retains side control. Kausch works to advance to full mount. Madman defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Kausch working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Madman tries to get back to half guard but can't. Madman is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Madman is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Kausch lands a big elbow. Kausch controlling from the full mount. Kausch is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Madman has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Madman! Madman stands up from guard. Let's bang!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Madman misses with a takedown attempt and Kausch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Madman's guard now. Madman is looking to stand up but Kausch isn't so interested in that idea. Kausch looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Kausch prevents Madman from getting back to his feet. Kausch slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Madman wriggles free and stands up. Madman tries to bum rush Kausch with a series of wild strikes but Kausch uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Madman is looking to clinch. Kausch drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Kausch won't allow Madman to get back to his feet. Kausch postures up and lands a big shot to Madman's brow. Kausch trying to control but Madman is working from the bottom. Madman trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Kausch looking to pass the guard. Madman is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Kausch shoots in for a takedown but Madman shows good takedown defense. Ryan Kausch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Madman throws a series of punches but Kausch avoids them all with ease. Kausch scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Madman seems a little lost for a moment, as Kausch dominates the positioning. Madman is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Kausch has just dragged him back down to the mat. Kausch is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Madman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kausch shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Madman as he avoids it easily. Madman misses with a leg kick. Kausch looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Madman is fending him off so far but Kausch persists. Nope, Madman circles away and we're back to standing. Kausch misses with a takedown attempt and Madman counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ryan Kausch. That's going to take a lot out of him. Madman throws a left and a right that both miss
and Kausch counters with a shoot takedown. Madman fights it but they end up in guard. Madman is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kausch is controlling him. Madman manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily. Madman getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kausch misses with a combination
and Kausch takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Madman doesn't manage to clinch there - Kausch circles away.
Madman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Kausch counters with a takedown into side control. A lull in the action here. Madman is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Madman is trying to get back to half guard. Kausch is staying tight to Madman's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Kausch will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Madman wants to stand but Kausch is controlling his posture from full guard. Kausch controlling the position. Kausch wants to get back to his feet but Madman is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Kausch has a closed guard, preventing Madman from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madman is posturing up here but Kausch has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Madman tries to roll out but it's too tight and Madman has to tap! Slick submission there by Kausch!
