Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 19 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Topher Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bo Nickal!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nickal tries to keep at a distance but Curtis has taken the fight into the clinch.
Curtis lands a shoulder strike.
Nickal misses with a short punch on the inside.
Nickal lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Nickal throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Curtiss head.
Curtis tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Nickal's elbow.
Curtis tries a body shot but Nickal blocks it.
Curtis tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Nickal is looking for a takedown.
Curtis doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Nickal goes for a takedown attempt but Curtis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Curtis throws a low kick but it's checked well by Nickal.
Nickal tries to clinch but fails miserably
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Nickal walks into a left hand.
Curtis pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Nickal was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Nickal fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Curtis has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Curtis connects with a jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Curtis rushes Nickal and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Curtis.
Nickal blocks a body shot from Curtis.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Nickal successfully pulls guard.

Nickal working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Curtis doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Curtis manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Curtis wants to stand but Nickal is controlling his posture from full guard.
Nickal wants to sweep but no luck.
Curtis would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Nickal is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Curtis pushes Nickal off looking to stand but Nickal dives back in and keeps control.
Nickal uses his free foot to push down on Curtis's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Curtis.
Nickal with a couple of short strikes.
Curtis has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Curtis is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Nickal putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Curtis's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Nickal has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Curtis's face.
Nickal unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Curtis wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Nickal celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bo Nickal!
Bo Nickal thanked the fans post fight for their support.
In defeat, Topher Curtis stepped up to the mic, saying 'Everybody loses sometimes which means he got lucky today. Next time we meet will result in a broken jaw.'.
