PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tsuyoi Kakuto (ranked 2711 p4p, 2915 weight class) and Kamden Jackson (ranked 101 p4p, 111 weight class). Kakuto comes to the cage accompanied by Gorillaz-Dirty Harry. Jackson has chosen Creed II- Eye of the Tiger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tsuyoi Kakuto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamden Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, John Kavanagh and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Kakuto on that attempt.

Jackson tries to sprawl but Kakuto drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Jackson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kakuto pulls his head out easily.

Kakuto changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jackson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kakuto fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Jackson to the ground. Kakuto is now in Jackson's guard.

Kakuto stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Kakuto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jackson can do to turn this around?

Horrible takedown attempt by Kakuto or perhaps it was just good defense by Jackson, which made it look bad.

Tsuyoi Kakuto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kakuto shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Kakuto's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jackson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Kakuto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Jackson is controlling him.

Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Jackson shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Kakuto tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jackson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kakuto somewhat.

Jackson steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kakuto.
Kakuto ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Tsuyoi Kakuto is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A nice side step and Jackson releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Jackson leaves Kakuto with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Kakuto shoots in for a takedown but Jackson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Jackson is desperately trying to improve his position but Kakuto has a good base and remains in mount.
Tsuyoi Kakuto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Kakuto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jackson has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kakuto has managed to get both his arms back between Jackson's legs - danger averted.
Jackson wants to sweep but no luck.

Kakuto gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Jackson lands a really nice looking cross but Kakuto seems unphased.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kakuto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jackson pinned against the cage. Jackson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Jackson throws out a counter right but Kakuto avoids it with no problem.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kamden Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kakuto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Tsuyoi Kakuto very nearly forgot to thank Fenrir Fightgear - Anno 2013 amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
Kamden Jackson was interviewed post fight and said 'The loss is tough, but I will come back stronger!'.
