Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Genkei Takahashi (ranked 3094 p4p, 2423 weight class) and Daniko Montpoisante (ranked 351 p4p, 287 weight class). Daniko Montpoisante will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Genkei Takahashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Daniko Montpoisante!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Montpoisante swings for the body but Takahashi moves out of range.
Montpoisante misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Takahashi closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Montpoisante quickly recovers to half guard.
Takahashi stops Montpoisante from getting back to his feet.
Still in half guard, Takahashi seems content to control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Takahashi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Montpoisante defends it well.

Montpoisante fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Takahashi manages to avoid it.
