Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Emelianenko (ranked 4168 p4p, 4365 weight class) and Tenho Lahti (ranked 428 p4p, 446 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roman Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tenho Lahti! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Donald Grub and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lahti throws a lazy head kick and Emelianenko counters with a lovely straight right hand! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Lahti has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Lahti misses with a right hand and Emelianenko counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Nice shot by Emelianenko. Lahti wants to clinch up but Emelianenko keeps it at a distance. Lahti throws a series of strikes that have Emelianenko backpedaling.
It looks like Roman Emelianenko has been cut. A head kick by Lahti misses and Emelianenko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Emelianenko stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Emelianenko definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Lahti on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Lahti tries to close the distance and clinch up but Emelianenko swats him away and circles back towards the center. Lahti tries to move into range but Emelianenko moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Lahti shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Emelianenko sprawls well. Emelianenko wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lahti gets slowly back to his feet. Emelianenko lands a jab to Lahti's midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. A punch combination from Lahti misses. Emelianenko was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Lahti throws a lazy head kick and Emelianenko makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Lahti misses with a hook
and Emelianenko counters with a nice right hand that sends Lahti toppling to the canvas! Lahti scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Emelianenko finish him?!
Lahti is rocked! Lahti looks winded! Are you kidding me?! Emelianenko ducked down and unloaded an uppercut from hell that sent Lahti clean off his feet! Someone make me a GIF - that's knockout of the night for sure!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roman Emelianenko!
