Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Filip Valcak (ranked 3811 p4p, 4178 weight class) and Vitor Toyota (ranked 465 p4p, 0 weight class). Valcak comes to the cage accompanied by Biggie Smalls - Hypnotize. Vitor Toyota is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Filip Valcak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vitor Toyota !
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toyota lands a head shot.
Valcak shoots for a takedown but Toyota saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Toyota forces Valcak back against the cage and clinches.

Toyota breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Toyota moves into the clinch.
Toyota wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Toyota manages to break the clinch.

Toyota darts in and clinches Valcak up against the cage.

Toyota has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Valcak is trying to keep an underhook but Toyota manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Valcak has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Toyota is on him like a limpet, forcing Valcak back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Valcak wants to take the fight to the mat but Toyota manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Toyota stops a takedown attempt from Valcak.

Toyota darts in and clinches Valcak up against the cage.

Valcak dives in and grabs Toyota 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Toyota pushes down on Valcak's head and hops out.

Toyota gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Toyota postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Valcak is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Toyota , into his guard.

Toyota keeping moving, preventing Valcak from controlling successfully.

Valcak stands up and waves to Toyota to follow him.

Valcak shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Toyota pinned against the cage. Toyota gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Toyota blocks the body kick.

Toyota has closed the distance and engaged Valcak in a clinch.

Toyota has Valcak pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Toyota pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Valcak tumbling to the mat - Toyota dives into Valcak's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Toyota postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Toyota trying to stand up but can't free himself from Valcak's guard.
Toyota slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Toyota keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Valcak's head.

Toyota thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Toyota drops back, looking for a kneebar! Valcak looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Valcak looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Valcak!

Toyota is looking to reverse the position.
Valcak tries to advance to mount but Toyota denies him.

Valcak wants to control but Toyota is keeping him busy.

Valcak tries for a kimura but Toyota is defending well.
Valcak has knee on belly and moves into mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Vitor Toyota dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Toyota throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Valcak appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Toyota shoots in for a double leg but Valcak sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Valcak feinted with a counter takedown.
Valcak has a takedown stuffed.

Toyota closes the distance and pushes Valcak back into the cage.

Toyota breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Still in the clinch, Valcak scores with a nice short uppercut.
Toyota has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Valcak keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Toyota 's efforts to push away.
Toyota has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Valcak avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Toyota feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Toyota throws a strike but Valcak rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Valcak looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Toyota is refusing to be controlled, as Valcak sits in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Toyota gets back to full guard.
Toyota looking to hit a scissor sweep but Valcak is one step ahead there.
Filip Valcak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Valcak slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Toyota controlling the position.

Valcak got a little sloppy there for a moment and Toyota has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Valcak has managed to get both his arms back between Toyota 's legs - danger averted.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Valcak wants to control from the top but Toyota keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Toyota really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Valcak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Valcak stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Valcak wants it to stay on the feet.
Toyota is breathing heavily.
Toyota defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Valcak.
Valcak shoots in looking for a takedown but Toyota manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Valcak's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Toyota moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Toyota pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Valcak tries to keep at a distance but Toyota has taken the fight into the clinch.

Toyota lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Vitor Toyota showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Valcak shoots in but Toyota avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As Valcak backs off Toyota throws a huge counter combo but Valcak manages to avoid it all.

Toyota moves into the clinch successfully.
Toyota is trying to break the clinch but Valcak has him pressed against the cage.
Valcak has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Toyota after a bit of a struggle.

Toyota is trying to trip Valcak. He has hold of a leg but Valcak is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Toyota persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Toyota seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Toyota must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Valcak is on top in guard.

Valcak tries to free his leg and advance position but Toyota is retaining full guard.
Toyota is pulling down on Valcak's head to control his posture.
Valcak passes Toyota 's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Toyota bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Valcak's guard.

Valcak is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Valcak is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Valcak is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Filip Valcak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Vitor Toyota is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Toyota regains full guard. Nicely done.
