Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dominick Poirier!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Winston Howard.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poirier shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Muller manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Muller wants to stand but Poirier is controlling the position.
Muller trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Poirier forces his way into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Poirier throws a solid leg kick but Muller takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Poirier.
Poirier feints and as Muller raises his hands in defense, Poirier changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Muller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Poirier is controlling him.

Muller knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Poirier on the ground.

Muller throws a series of strikes that have Poirier backpedaling.

Muller wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Poirier manages to pass to side control.

Poirier wants to take a breather but Muller is having none of it.

Poirier passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Muller!

Poirier fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.
Muller throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Muller throws a sloppy head kick and Poirier moves out of range easily.
Muller cracks Poirier with a right hand to the side of the head.

Muller plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!

so Poirier counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Poirier is standing up over Muller. Muller looks to escape but Poirier dives into side control.
Poirier looks up at the clock and then as Muller takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Poirier smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poirier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Poirier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Poirier wants to control but Muller is keeping him busy.
Muller is looking to get back to his feet here but Poirier is keeping cool and he's managed to take Muller's back.

Poirier has got one arm under Muller's chin. This could be trouble... Muller trying to control the other hand but Poirier gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Muller has tapped out! The fight is over!
