Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Panda Three (ranked 3127 p4p, 1827 weight class) and Marcus Hughes (ranked 411 p4p, 254 weight class). And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Marcus Hughes!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Three misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hughes.
Hughes misses the jab.
Hughes swats away the attempt to clinch by Three.

Three moves away from the strike by Hughes.
Three throws a right hand that Hughes ducks under and follows up with a left that Hughes also avoids with ease.
Hughes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Three sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Hughes shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Three is adopting a defensive guard.
Hughes stands up over Three, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Three controls Hughes momentarily but Hughes frees himself.
Three utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Three wants to sweep here but Hughes controlling him for the moment.
Three on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Three tries to get out of the position.

Hughes drops back looking for a leg! Three is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Three manages to kick Hughes off! Hughes jumps back into Three's guard.

Hughes postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hughes's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Three is trying to control the position but Hughes postures up.
Three might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hughes won't allow Three to sweep him here.

Hughes stands up over Three, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Hughes wants to pass the guard but Three is keeping the position.
Three not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hughes chips away with some ground and pound.
Hughes looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Hughes working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Three's head.
Three wants to control but Hughes passes easily into half guard.

Hughes is looking for a kimura but Three is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hughes to get the leverage.
Three wants to get back to his feet.

Hughes seems to be looking for submissions.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Hughes looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Three with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Three is trying to stand back up but Hughes is controlling him
Three tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Hughes has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Hughes looking to finish Three with some ground and pound. This is bad for Three!
Three is squirming around, avoiding Hughes's attempts to control the action.

Three is trying desperately to improve position.

Hughes is working for a guillotine from mount but Three frees his head quite easily.
Three keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Three is working hard here to advance position.
Three taking shots to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hughes has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Three's face.

Three is rocked!
Oooh a big shot lands for Hughes! Three is out! The ref dives in to save him from more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Marcus Hughes!
