Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Zhukov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Briggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhukov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Briggs gets back to half guard.
Zhukov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Briggs trying to control here.
Zhukov not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Zhukov is looking to advance position but Briggs won't allow it.
Briggs tries to roll over but Zhukov keeps him under control.
Zhukov scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Briggs works his way to full guard. Good work.
Briggs can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Zhukov controls the pace.
Briggs is looking for a triangle but Zhukov pushes his legs off easily.

Briggs might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Zhukov kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Zhukov postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Zhukov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Zhukov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Zhukov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Briggs on the ground.

Briggs wants to get back to his feet but Zhukov is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Briggs thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Zhukov shoots in but Briggs avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Briggs lands with a kick to the temple. Zhukov shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Zhukov fails to land the takedown.
Zhukov is breathing heavily.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Zhukov.
Briggs manages to work his way to half guard, despite Zhukov's best efforts.
Briggs has one foot on Zhukov's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Briggs scores with a jab to the body.
Briggs has taken the fight to the clinch.
Briggs tries for a takedown but Zhukov manages to get underhooks.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Briggs has Zhukov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Zhukov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Briggs successfully pulls guard.
Zhukov wants to pass the guard but Briggs is keeping the position.
Briggs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Zhukov on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Zhukov tries to get out of the position.

Zhukov is looking to improve his position.
Zhukov wants to control the action here but instead Briggs manages to pass to full mount!
Zhukov throwing hammer fists to the chest of Briggs. What's that going to do exactly?
Zhukov is trying desperately to improve position.
Briggs with the ground and pound from mount.
Briggs looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Zhukov is trying to escape the mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Briggs cracks Zhukov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Briggs with a couple of short strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Briggs wants to finish this one by submission but Zhukov is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Briggs.
Zhukov is trying to escape the mount.
Zhukov tries to hold on but Briggs pushes him away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Zhukov reaches up to try and control the position but Briggs seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Zhukov rolls and tries to escape and now Briggs has his back!
Briggs lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Can Zhukov hold on?! Briggs is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Scott Briggs dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Briggs is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Zhukov looks for a takedown but Briggs sprawls well.
Briggs shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Zhukov counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Briggs manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Briggs landing strikes from the mount and Zhukov is in trouble!
Zhukov really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Briggs blocks Zhukov's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Zhukov is in a horrible position here. Briggs smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Briggs putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Briggs is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Zhukov is forced to tap! Great finish!
