The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vinyard staying out of range there.
Fairbanks ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Vinyard moves away.
Fairbanks scores with a nice strike.
Fairbanks slips a straight right by Vinyard.
Fairbanks keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
The fighters circling - Fairbanks throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vinyard swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Fairbanks throws a body shot but no joy.
A lazy left from Vinyard finds it's target.

Fairbanks throws the left hand but Vinyard avoids the punch easily.
Fairbanks has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Vinyard is looking to counter punch.
Vinyard connects with a jab.
Fairbanks tries a head kick but it misses.
Fairbanks throws a nice outside leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Desmond Fairbanks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Vinyard throws a head kick but Fairbanks moves out of range.
Fairbanks looks to throw the jab but Vinyard is out of range.
It looked like Vinyard wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Fairbanks pounces like a tiger and cracks Vinyard with a vicious hook! Vinyard is down but not out! Fairbanks follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

After the fight, Desmond Fairbanks was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
