Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Arod Doyea (ranked 1252 p4p, 745 weight class) and Koichi Kamei (ranked 152 p4p, 91 weight class). Arod Doyea could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Koichi Kamei's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arod Doyea!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koichi Kamei!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Doyea.
Kamei swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kamei misses with a straight right.
Doyea lands with a thumping leg kick.
Doyea moves into range and connects with a jab.
Nice defenses there by Doyea.
Doyea throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Doyea is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kamei.
Kamei looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Kamei lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Kamei.
Doyea definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kamei looks to land a combination but Doyea avoids it well.
Kamei stuns Doyea with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doyea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kamei swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Doyea drops back looking for a leg! Kamei is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kamei manages to kick Doyea off! Doyea jumps back into Kamei's guard.
Kamei wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Doyea throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kamei's waist but Kamei gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Doyea off to one side.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Doyea shoots for a double leg takedown but Kamei sprawls well. He's pushed Doyea's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Doyea cracks Kamei with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Kamei will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Well Kamei has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
