The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fairbanks misses with a right hand

It looked like Fairbanks was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Petrov.
Petrov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Fairbanks throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Petrov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Fairbanks tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Petrov counters with a three punch combo that has Fairbanks backing up. Fairbanks nods at Petrov to acknowledge the strikes.

Fairbanks fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Petrov manages to avoid it.
Fairbanks jabs Petrov right on the nose. Petrov blinks but takes it well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Fairbanks misses with a lunging right hand
and Petrov counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Fairbanks pivots, looking for a leg kick but Petrov is out of range and Fairbanks settles back down.
Petrov replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Fairbanks blocks it well.
Fairbanks slips under a jab.
Fairbanks comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
A solid leg kick lands there for Fairbanks.

Fairbanks has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Tōshi in the buildup to the fight.
Petrov walks into a straight right hand from Fairbanks.
Fairbanks throws an off balance right hand
and Petrov counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Fairbanks misses with an uppercut
and Petrov counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Petrov seems to have recovered his senses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooh a lovely combination from Fairbanks sends Petrov down but not out. Fairbanks dives into side control looking to finish.

Fairbanks decides to stand up, so the ref orders Petrov to his feet.

Fairbanks swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
The crowd cheers as Petrov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Fairbanks doesn't seem phased though.
Fairbanks throws a head kick but Petrov moves out of range.
Petrov let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Fairbanks stuns Petrov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Petrov walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
