Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gene Parmesan (ranked 491 p4p, 333 weight class) and Stanley Steele (ranked 74 p4p, 47 weight class). Steele has chosen Manowar - Heart of Steel as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gene Parmesan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Stanley Steele!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steele walks into a jab.

It looks like Stanley Steele has been cut.
Steele throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Steele misses with a right hand
and Parmesan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Parmesan looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Steele bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Steele works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Parmesan connects with a body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parmesan throws a sloppy head kick and Steele moves out of range easily.
Steele swings widly with a right hand

and Parmesan counters with a single leg into guard. Steele didn't expect that.

Parmesan postures up in Steele's guard and throws a big left but Steele blocks it.
Our spies down at at Memento Mori inform us that Steele has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Parmesan works a leg free and moves into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Parmesan connects with a nice short shot to Steele's temple.
Steele has his hands clasped together around Parmesan's back. He's all about the action.
Steele keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

Steele trying to hold on to Parmesan's head to control him but Parmesan postures up.
Parmesan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Steele tries to get to full guard but Parmesan has control of the leg.
Steele is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Parmesan scores with a couple of nice shots.

Parmesan thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Steele trying to hold on to Parmesan's head to control him but Parmesan postures up.

Parmesan is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Steele is just riding it out for now. Parmesan eventually gives up the hold.

Steele holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Steele manages to get to full guard.
Parmesan looking to pass the guard.
Parmesan loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Parmesan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Parmesan postures up and lands a big shot to Steele's brow.
Parmesan postures up in Steele's guard and throws a big left but Steele blocks it.

Steele is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Parmesan throws a big elbow that misses.
Steele has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parmesan throws a big right hand that misses.
Steele is trying to keep Parmesan in close.
Parmesan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Parmesan working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Steele's head.
Parmesan postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Parmesan's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Parmesan drops back, looking for a kneebar! Steele looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Steele looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Steele!

Steele trying to control the action but Parmesan is working from the bottom.
The referee asks Steele politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Steele prefers to stall for the moment though.
Steele is looking to take a break and control but Parmesan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Parmesan is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Gene Parmesan dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Stanley Steele's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Steele bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Parmesan's head backwards.
A low kick from Parmesan misses
and Steele counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Steele throws a right and a left that Parmesan avoids nicely.
Parmesan misses with an attempted mid kick.
Parmesan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Steele can do to turn this around?
Parmesan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Steele. That did some damage!
Parmesan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Parmesan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Parmesan looks to score with a jab to the body but Steele is just out of range.
Good standup being displayed there by Parmesan as he connects with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steele takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Parmesan throws a head kick but Steele moves out of range.
Parmesan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Steele has time to react.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Parmesan looks for the body kick but Steele saw that one coming.

Steele sizes up Parmesan with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Parmesan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
It looked like Parmesan wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Parmesan throws a body kick that misses
and Steele counters with a straight right hand.
Parmesan looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Parmesan slips under a jab.
Steele's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Parmesan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Steele scrambles back to his feet.
A lazy body kick from Parmesan
and Steele counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Steele fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nice jab there from Steele.

Steele lands a big uppercut and Parmesan crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Parmesan looks OK. Steele waves Parmesan back to his feet!

Parmesan is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Parmesan gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Steele gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Parmesan is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Stanley Steele!
Our winner, Stanley Steele, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
