Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Solomon Cook!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James moves forwards but Cook connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Cook lands a right hook to the body.
Cook throws a leg kick but James checks it.
Good shot there by Cook.
Cook fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Cook looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
We've been told by James's head coaches at Roosters Coop that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
James takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Solomon Cook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James shoots in but no luck this time.
Cook fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.

Cook chopping away at his opponent's legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cook fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and James has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Cook scores with the left hand. James knows he should have avoided that one.

It looks like Tyson James has been cut.

James is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Cook's half guard.

Cook makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Cook is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! James had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
James shoots for a double leg takedown but Cook sprawls well. He's pushed James's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

James closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cook to the mat! Cook manages to get full guard.
James might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

James gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

James tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Cook swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James goes for a double leg but Cook avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cook continues to drive forward.
Cook looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

James wants the takedown. Cook is fighting it off but James persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Cook's guard against the cage.
James in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Cook is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

James is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Cook is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him.

James seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Cook is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
James trying to control the position from guard on top but Cook is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cook wants to stand and escape but James is having none of it.

Cook wriggles free and stands up.

James shoots in and gets a takedown into Cook's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
James with a nice head shot there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
James throws a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cook pushes James off and scrambles back to his feet.
Cook scores with a jab to the head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cook lands an overhand right.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Cook has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cook scores with a shot to the side of James's head.
Cook lands with a right to the head.
Cook tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
James blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Cook misses with the head strike.
Cook has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

James gets a trip takedown into half guard.
James works his way into full mount!
James with shots to the head and body - Cook looks very uncomfortable down there.

It looks like Solomon Cook has been cut.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cook squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Cook is in a horrible position here. James smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That has opened up Solomon Cook's cut even more.

James has hold of Cook's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Cook manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Solomon Cook dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

James takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Cook feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Jamess jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
James tries for a takedown but Cook sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Solomon Cook seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Cook swings and misses with a hook to the body.
James gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Cook has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fighters circle, before Cook throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into James's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Cook lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:33 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Solomon Cook!
Solomon Cook thanked the fans post fight for their support.
