Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paul Bourque!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Austin Justice!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Justice misses with a straight left.
Bourque really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Justice has a takedown stuffed.
Bourque keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Justice shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bourque's guard.
Bourque controlling the position.
Justice trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bourque is trying to keep Justice in close.
Justice thows a big elbow that misses.
Justice throwing strikes but missing.
Bourque bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Justice's guard.
Justice is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Justice has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Justice with a couple of shots from the bottom there - nothing Bourque can't handle though.

Justice looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bourque is one step ahead there.
Bourque pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Justice is keeping the position for now.
Bourque wants to get up but he can't break Justice's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Bourque slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
A big right from Bourque misses.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bourque bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Justice drives through with a takedown into guard.
Justice stopping the sweep attempt from Bourque.
Justice throws a big right hand that misses.
Justice trying to control the position from guard on top but Bourque is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bourque is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Justice is controlling him.
Bourque has momentary wrist control but Justice slips an elbow through the middle.
Justice prevents Bourque from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Bourque misses with a double jab.
Austin Justice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bourque throws a hook but Justice blocks it.
Justice throws a jab but it's blocked by Bourque.
Justice fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Paul Bourque has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Justice.
Bourque waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Justice.
Justice shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bourque as he avoids it easily.
Paul Bourque is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Justice misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
A jab from Bourque finds it's way through Justice's defenses.
Justice looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Bourque misses with an uppercut. Justice saw that one coming.
Bourque moves out of range of the strikes.
Bourque swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Justice.
Bourque lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Justice throws the left hand but Bourque avoids the punch easily.
Justice shoots in for a takedown but Bourque shows good takedown defense.
Justice looks gassed!
Justice throws a jab when Bourque was well out of range.
Bourque lands with an uppercut that bounces Justice off the cage and back into rage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Justice misses with a hook.
Nice sprawl there from Bourque as Justice shoots in.
Bourque will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Bourque dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Justice has a takedown stuffed.
Bourque blocks a jab.
Justice misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bourque.
Justice fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A left and a right from Bourque both land. Nice combination.
Bourque rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Justice moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bourque looks to land a left hand but Justice moved out of range nicely.
Justice looks for a takedown but Bourque sprawls well.
Paul Bourque has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Austin Justice.
Justice is breathing heavily.
Justice will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Justice closes the distance and clinches up with Bourque, looking for a takedown. Justice pushes Bourque against the cage but Bourque circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Nice sprawl there from Bourque as Justice shoots in.
Bourque scores with a sloppy right hand. Justice should have avoided that one.
Bourque defending well as Justice loads up on a big left hand.
Bourque keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Justice misses the jab.
Bourque swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Paul Bourque is winning the standup battle so far.
Justice shoots in for a takedown but Bourque shows good takedown defense.

Justice is rocked!
Paul Bourque is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bourque cracks Justice with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Justice tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Bourque pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Justice is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Paul Bourque!
