Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jami Jarr (ranked 705 p4p, 1887 weight class) and James McGuire (ranked 107 p4p, 256 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jarr might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wahhabi I. McGuire has chosen Metallica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

With a record of 22 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, James McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGuire tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Jarr uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by McGuire.
McGuire rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jarr counters with a straight right hand.
It looks like James McGuire has been cut.
McGuire lands a left and a right that send Jarr crashing to the mat, dazed. McGuire thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Jarr looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
McGuire closes the distance looking to clinch
and Jarr counters with a straight right hand.

Jarr stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McGuire swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McGuire is wriggling around but Jarr manages to pass to half guard.

McGuire wants to stand back up but Jarr manages to pass into side control.
McGuire is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
McGuire tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Jarr remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
McGuire gets back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
