Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kennedy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Yates was covering up waiting for the punch and Kennedy finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yates utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Yates is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Yates will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Kennedy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kennedy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kennedy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yates is just riding it out for now. Kennedy eventually gives up the hold.

Let's hope that Kennedy has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Otis Yates's cut is getting worse.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oooooh, big shot lands for Kennedy ! Yates is hurt baaadly! Kennedy is firing away with more strikes - Yates is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
