Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between James Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Colt Cannon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Young comes to the cage accompanied by Dont Sweat The Technique. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Young! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Colt Cannon! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Young avoids a punch combination nicely.
Young avoids the head kick by Cannon.
Cannon fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Cannon blocks a low kick nicely. Young buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Young lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cannon backs up against the cage.
Young decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Young really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Young takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Young is pressing down on Cannon's thigh, looking to free his foot. Cannon is holding on for now. Young passes to side control. Young is looking to take a break and control but Cannon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Young tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Young has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Young looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Cannon is avoiding damage well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Young trying to control the position but Cannon is working away. Cannon wants to get back to his feet. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Cannon is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Young off and has taken his back! Cannon tries to get the hooks in deep but Young pushed the leg off.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Cannon avoiding Young 's attempts to control his hands. Young is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Young tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Young is trying to escape the mount.
Young regains half guard. Young is looking to improve his position.
Young moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Young trying to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cannon with a flurry of punches that miss. Cannon postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Cannon stopping the sweep attempt from Young. Cannon showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Cannon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Cannon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Young manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cannon manages to get himself to full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Cannon wants to stand but Young is controlling the position. Young looking to sit in guard and control but Cannon gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Young has his foot on Cannon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cannon works his way back into a safe position though. Young tries to strike from the bottom.
Cannon trying to control the position from guard on top but Young is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Cannon preventing the sweep. Cannon stands up from guard. Let's bang! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Young dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Cannon tries to clinch but Young is having none of it. Young throws a half hearted mid kick. Cannon is looking to clinch but Young is avoiding it.
Young shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Cannon's guard. Young scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Young will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Cannon is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Young wants to control from the top but Cannon keeps moving. Young looking to pass the guard. Cannon being controlled here, momentarily. Young won't allow Cannon to get back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Young trying to control but Cannon is working from the bottom. Young slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Young lands a couple of decent looking shots. Young wants to pass the guard but Cannon is keeping the position. Young works over Cannon with some ground and pound from guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cannon is looking to stand back up but Young counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Cannon. Cannon is breathing heavily. Cannon is trying to maintain the position but Young is very close to passing his half guard. Young trying to control from half guard but Cannon is working away. Cannon pushes Young off looking to stand but Young dives back in and keeps control.
Young is looking to take a break and control but Cannon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Young keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Cannon is defending against the submission attempts here by Young.

Young thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Nice strikes from Young there. Young is controlling the pace.
Young is keen to just control but Cannon is a slippery customer.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The referee stands the fighters back up. James Young just wasn't active enough from the dominant position. Cannon misses with a combination
and Young counters with a one-two to the body. Cannon closes the distance and clinches up with Young, looking for a takedown. Cannon pushes Young against the cage but Young circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Young throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Cannon. Young feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cannon's calf. Young feints and then cracks Cannon's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cannon down. Excellent takedown into side control there by Young. Cannon takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Cannon is looking for a sweep. Young wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cannon keeps working. Young decides to stand back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Young dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Young scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Young displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination. Young clinches. Young tries to score a body lock takedown but Cannon shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Young fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Young gets underhooks to prevent Cannon's takedown attempt.
Young has picked Cannon up - he's going for a ride! Young dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Young wants to pass to mount but Cannon is defending the position. Young seems to be looking for submissions.

Young wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Cannon, who protects the arm well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cannon is looking to reverse the position. James Young is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Cannon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Young's best efforts. Young tries to pass to full mount but Cannon defends it. Cannon wants to control but Young is keeping busy.
Cannon tries to kick Young off but Young keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Young with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Young seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Cannon for as long as he can get away with.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Colt Cannon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Cannon wants to get back to his feet. Still in half guard, Young seems content to control.

James Young overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Young pulls Cannon in close to his closed guard and prevents Cannon from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that's the end of the fight! James Young showed his dominance in that final round. Well Young has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
