Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob Suf (ranked 573 p4p, 1085 weight class) and Tevin Felix (ranked 82 p4p, 161 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bob Suf!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tevin Felix!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suf walks into a jab.

Felix is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Felix distracts Suf with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Suf escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Felix gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Suf is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
Felix looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Suf is fending him off so far but Felix persists. Nope, Suf circles away and we're back to standing.

Felix shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Suf as he jumps to the side.
Bob Suf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tevin Felix.

Suf clinches up with Felix and pushes him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Felix feints and as Suf raises his hands in defense, Felix changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Suf wants to stand and escape but Felix is having none of it.

Felix got a little sloppy there for a moment and Suf has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Felix has managed to get both his arms back between Suf's legs - danger averted.

Suf can't keep his opponent in guard - Felix advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Felix is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Suf is just riding it out for now. Felix eventually gives up the hold.

Felix seems to be working for a kimura but Suf defends the submission attempt.
Felix wants to lay and pray for a moment but Suf keeps working.
Felix might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Suf haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

My spies in Mello MMA inform me that Felix has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Suf is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Felix has just dragged him back down to the mat.
