PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Long Wang (ranked 778 p4p, 316 weight class) and Risto Rautio (ranked 115 p4p, 49 weight class). Wang comes to the cage accompanied by 閃靈 . Rautio has chosen mickey avalon as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Risto Rautio enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Long Wang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 36 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Risto Rautio!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Reed Andrews and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut lands for Wang. That snapped Rautio's head back.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Wang.
Wang misses with a combination
and Rautio cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Wang throws a series of punches but Rautio avoids them all with ease.
Wang lands with an uppercut that bounces Rautio off the cage and back into range.
Wang looks for a takedown but Rautio sprawls well.
Rautio fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Wang looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

and Rautio counters with a nice body shot.
Wang misses with a shot to the body
and Rautio counters with a stiff right hand.
Wang swings for the body but Rautio moves out of range.

Wang throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Rautio was covering up waiting for the punch and Wang finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rautio is on top in guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rautio not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Wang looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rautio is one step ahead there.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wang has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Rautio is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Wang.
Wang is looking for a sweep.
Wang trying to control but Rautio flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Wang is really stuck here.

Wang wants to escape the position.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rautio is hanging on to Wang's back as he tries to escape.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Risto Rautio dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Wang will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wang misses with a few strikes there.
Rautio looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Wang moves in looking to clinch but Rautio pushes him off.
Wang gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rautio scores with a sloppy right hand. Wang should have avoided that one.
Rautio throws a looping overhand right but Wang ducks down to avoid it.
Long Wang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wang misses with a takedown attempt
and Rautio counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Rautio keeps the fight on the outside.
Wang goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Rautio tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Wang was well out of range. Poor timing from Rautio.

Wang tries to clinch up but Rautio circles away and keeps his distance.
Rautio has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Rautio tries to keep at a distance but Wang has taken the fight into the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Rautio.
Rautio lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Wang breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Rautio gets tackled into the cage by Wang. Wang maintains the clinch.
Rautio tries to throw a body punch but Wang avoids it by throwing Rautio back against the cage.
Rautio misses with a punch on the inside.
Rautio lands an uppercut.
Rautio has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Wang turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Wang is working to tighten his grip on Rautio's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rautio has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Wang is really squeezing tight and eventually Rautio passes out! Wang breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
