Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Golles (ranked 1900 p4p, 1928 weight class) and Carlos Gomez (ranked 260 p4p, 268 weight class). Peter Golles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Peter Golles!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Carlos Gomez!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Golles displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Gomez throws out the jab.

Golles gets a clinch.
Golles on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Golles scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Gomez managing to block the knees to the body from Golles.
Our sources have told us that Golles has been working on his elbows in the gym.
Gomez tries to work over Golles's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Golles takes a knee to the side of the body.
Golles is breathing heavily.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gomez creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Golles breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gomez has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Gomez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gomez lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Golles wants to get back to his feet.
Gomez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Golles keeps working.
Gomez is pressing down on Golles's thigh, looking to free his foot. Golles is holding on for now.
Golles knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gomez on the ground.

Gomez looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Gomez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Golles with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Gomez is looking to advance position but Golles won't allow it.
Golles tries to kick Gomez off but Gomez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Gomez works his way into full mount!
Golles wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Gomez is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Golles can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Golles is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

You get the feeling that Golles really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gomez postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Golles in real trouble here! The ref calls for Golles to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
