Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vern Schullacks (ranked 2330 p4p, 4558 weight class) and Mark O Madsen (ranked 319 p4p, 563 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vern Schullacks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark O Madsen!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Aafke Stam and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schullacks digs a good body shot into O Madsen's ribs.

Mark O Madsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Schullacks throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck O Madsen on the side of the head.

That was a close round but I would say that Vern Schullacks will probably get the nod.

O Madsen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Schullacks with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw O Madsen working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Schullacks moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
