Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Carpenter (ranked 5462 p4p, 6806 weight class) and Andrejs Medvedevs (ranked 520 p4p, 605 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Carpenter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 12 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrejs Medvedevs! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carpenter is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Medvedevs's half guard. Well, if Carpenter is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Carpenter takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Carpenter is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Medvedevs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carpenter is working away from the top position though. Carpenter content to control rather than advance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carpenter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Carpenter is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Carpenter working the head and body with strikes. Carpenter is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Carpenter landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Carpenter content to control rather than advance. Carpenter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Medvedevs is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carpenter connects with a nice short shot to Medvedevs's temple. We've been hearing that Carpenter has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Nice strikes from Carpenter there. Carpenter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Carpenter working Medvedevs over with strikes. Carpenter lands strikes from half guard. Carpenter is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Medvedevs has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Carpenter is working away from the top position though. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Carpenter controlling the action here. Carpenter scoring with strikes to the body and head. Carpenter not doing much here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Medvedevs trying to control from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Still in half guard, Carpenter seems content to control. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Mike Carpenter dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Medvedevs enables Carpenter to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Medvedevs manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Carpenter lands a couple of elbows. Carpenter keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Medvedevs's head. Medvedevs wants to stand and escape but Carpenter is having none of it. Medvedevs pulls Carpenter in close to prevent any damage. Medvedevs trying to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Carpenter connects with a nice short shot to Medvedevs's temple. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Carpenter in particular looking to stall. Carpenter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Carpenter looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Medvedevs throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Carpenter content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Carpenter is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Carpenter is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Medvedevs can do to turn this around?

Carpenter working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Carpenter winds up and cracks Medvedevs with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Carpenter with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Carpenter has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Medvedevs is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Medvedevs makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Medvedevs. Carpenter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Medvedevs being controlled here, momentarily. Carpenter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Medvedevs has a takedown stuffed. Carpenter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Carpenter closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Carpenter lands in his opponent's guard. Carpenter distracts Medvedevs with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Medvedevs is striking but Carpenter is not phased and passes to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carpenter perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Medvedevs taking some punishment here, with Carpenter in his half guard. Carpenter prevents Medvedevs from improving his position. Carpenter sitting and controlling from the half guard. And that's the end of the fight! Mike Carpenter showed his dominance in that final round. Well Carpenter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
