Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Lima (ranked 4429 p4p, 5449 weight class) and Jullien Noller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Lima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jullien Noller!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lima misses with a head kick.
Noller fails in his attempt to clinch.

Lima pushes Noller up against the cage in a clinch.
Lima jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Noller walks away with a smile on his face. Lima gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lima scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Noller closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lima's guard.
Lima looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Noller controls from within his opponent's guard.
Lima keeping moving, preventing Noller from controlling successfully.

Lima is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Noller is aware though and is defending well.
Lima keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Noller loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lima looking for a guillotine here but Noller defends easily.
Noller trying to control but Lima is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Lima is looking to clinch but Noller is avoiding it.
Lima tries to clinch up but Noller circles away and keeps his distance.
Noller steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Lima.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lima scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Noller throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Lima lands strikes from half guard.

Noller has one foot on Lima's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Lima closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Noller tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lima wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Lima stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Noller is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Lima shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lima was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Noller throws Lima to one side and escapes!

Lima closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Noller is trying to improve his position.
Lima working the body and head with strikes.
Lima wants to control but Noller is keeping him busy.
Noller defending against the ground and pound.
Noller is trying to control Lima's posture but Lima avoids it.

Lima looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Lima stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Noller fails with a takedown attempt.
Noller tries to clinch but Lima moves out of range.
Lima half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Lima is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Noller's half guard.
Noller wants to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Noller is in trouble now - Lima has advanced to mount!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Fernando Lima will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

and Noller holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Noller accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lima is on top in guard.

Noller controls Lima momentarily but Lima frees himself.
Noller trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Noller is adopting a defensive guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lima stops Noller from standing up.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Noller throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lima's waist but Lima gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Noller off to one side.
Noller thows a leg kick but Lima checks it

so Lima counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lima's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Lima slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Noller keeping full guard, as Lima tries to pass.
Noller has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Lima has passed into side control.
Lima is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Noller can do to turn this around?
Lima trying to control the action but Noller is working from the bottom.
Lima is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Noller is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Fernando Lima overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lima has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Noller!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Lima with a couple of short strikes.
Noller is in all sorts of trouble here.
Lima looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Lima cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lima lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Noller hang on?
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Noller gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Noller has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Lima off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Noller doesn't manage to clinch there - Lima circles away.
As Noller tries to get set, Lima tries to push him back and clinch up but Noller manages to avoid the attempt.

Noller takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Noller keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Lima throws a head kick that misses.
Noller gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Lima connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Noller gets caught napping as Lima dives in and scores a takedown. Noller manages to retain guard.

Lima stands up and waves to Noller to follow him.
Noller takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Lima lands with a kick to the temple. Noller shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Fernando Lima is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Noller shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Lima is trying to defend but Noller finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Lima makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Oooooh!!! Lima has knocked Noller down with a huge combo! Lima steps away and waves a wobbly Noller back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Noller is rocked!
Noller fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lima avoids it really well and circles away.
Noller is still on wobbly legs! Can Lima finish him?

Lima closes the distance and clinches.
Noller seems to have recovered his senses.
Noller is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Lima tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Lima successfully pulls guard.
Noller is fighting to break Lima's control of his arms but Lima is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lima continues to stall.

Lima has his foot on Noller's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Noller works his way back into a safe position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lima holds on and takes a little breather.
Lima has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Lima drops Noller with a beautiful combination! Noller stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Lima is looking for the KO!

Noller keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lima's efforts to push away.
Lima drops down looking for an ankle pick but Noller pulls his leg out and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fernando Lima showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lima has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
