Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Scotty Neer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zach Smith!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Neer tries to avoid it but Smith manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Neer to the ground. Neer escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Smith connects with a leg kick.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Neer.
Despite the aggression on Smith's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Smith looks for the body kick but Neer saw that one coming.
Smith tries to clinch but Neer is having none of it.
Neer shoots for a double leg takedown but Smith sprawls well. He's pushed Neer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Smith goes for a double leg but Neer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Neer continues to drive forward.
Smith tries a head kick but it misses.
Smith looks to clinch
and Neer counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Neer is standing up over Smith. Smith looks to escape but Neer dives into side control.
Smith tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Smith looks to move to half guard but instead Neer has passed into mount! Damn!
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neer controlling his opponent.
Smith is working to get back to half guard.
Neer with a couple of short strikes.
Smith is trying desperately to improve position.
Neer landing strikes from the mount.
Neer breaks from Smith's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Neer prevents Smith from getting the reversal.
Neer punishing his opponent with strikes.
Smith takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Smith looks a forlorn figure.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Neer prevents Smith from getting the reversal.
Smith looks winded!
Neer can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape.
Neer scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Smith?
Smith is looking to improve his position but Neer isn't that keen on the idea.
Neer punishing his opponent with strikes.
Neer looking to finish Smith with some ground and pound. This is bad for Smith!

Smith is rocked!
Neer postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Smith bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Neer and the fight is over!

Scotty Neer decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
