Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Henry Keaty! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Schuyler De Vries! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! De Vries closes the distance and clinches. Keaty is trying to work for a single leg takedown but De Vries pulls him back up using the underhooks. De Vries stops a takedown attempt from Keaty.
We've been hearing reports that Keaty has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Keaty tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. De Vries smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Keaty. That's going to take a lot out of him. De Vries lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Keaty lands with a good body shot. De Vries throws a leg kick which misses Keaty's front leg but catches the back leg as Keaty tries to avoid it. Henry Keaty seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. De Vries clinches. Keaty is trying to pull guard but De Vries turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. Keaty wants the takedown. De Vries is fighting it off but Keaty persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in De Vries's guard against the cage. Keaty drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Keaty jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Keaty thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Keaty passes easily into side control. Nice work. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Keaty looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
That's one minute gone in the round. De Vries is trying to improve his position. You can see the frustration on De Vries's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. De Vries gets back to half guard. Keaty is looking for a kimura here.
Keaty is working for a submission of some sort.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Keaty is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Keaty seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. De Vries is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
