Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Smile Telheiras (ranked 4440 p4p, 4722 weight class) and Frederic Bastiat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Telheiras shoots in and drives through. Bastiat sprawls well.
It seemed like Bastiat was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Telheiras pushes Bastiat up against the cage in a clinch.
Bastiat is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Telheiras is defending well.
Telheiras throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Bastiat blocks it with crossed arms.

Bastiat manages to break the clinch.
Telheiras scores with a one two! Bastiat had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Telheiras lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Bastiat misses with a shot to the body
and Telheiras counters with a three punch combo that has Bastiat backing up. Bastiat nods at Telheiras to acknowledge the strikes.

Bastiat shoots in and bounces Telheiras off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bastiat seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Telheiras does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Bastiat wants to stand but Telheiras has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Telheiras on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Telheiras tries to get out of the position.
Telheiras is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Bastiat seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Telheiras is looking to control Bastiat's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Telheiras avoid being mounted?

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Bastiat shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Bastiat tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Telheiras is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bastiat's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bastiat's back!
Bastiat turns into Telheiras and is now in his guard.
Telheiras is breathing heavily.

Bastiat postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Bastiat wants to stand and escape but instead Telheiras has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Bastiat might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Telheiras haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Bastiat is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bastiat wants to sweep but no luck.

Bastiat working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Telheiras doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Telheiras manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Telheiras rushes Bastiat and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bastiat tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Telheiras smiles and moves away.
Telheiras doesn't manage to clinch there - Bastiat circles away.
Telheiras throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bastiat's waist but Bastiat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Telheiras off to one side.
Telheiras throws a sloppy head kick and Bastiat moves out of range easily.
Bastiat feints the counter takedown.
Bastiat goes for a double leg but Telheiras avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Telheiras continues to drive forward.
Bastiat tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Telheiras counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Bastiat is landing with some decent strikes but Telheiras is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

It looks like Smile Telheiras has been cut.
Bastiat looking to control but Telheiras is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Oh Telheiras is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bastiat postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Telheiras out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Bastiat goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!
