Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joe Dixon (ranked 4748 p4p, 5535 weight class) and Oliver Robson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joe Dixon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Robson! The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Robson scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dixon in his tracks. Robson digs a good hook to Dixon's body.
Robson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. The crowd cheers as Robson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dixon doesn't seem phased though. Dixon swinging wildly here.
Robson is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Dixon throws a low kick, looking for Robson's leg but Robson calmly moves out of range. Dixon moves into the clinch. Robson misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Dixon blocking some punches.
Dixon is pushing Robson up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Robson lands an uppercut. Dixon prevents a body shot from Robson. Robson doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Dixon is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Robson is defending well. Robson working some nice short punches in the clinch. Robson throws a punch but it's blocked by Dixon.
That's one minute gone in the round. Robson tries to work over Dixon's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Robson. Dixon will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Robson up against the cage. Dixon has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Robson regains guard immediately. Robson is trying to keep Dixon in close.
Robson wants to sweep but no luck. Dixon content to stall in guard here. Dixon stands up and waves to Robson to follow him.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robson cracks Dixon with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Oliver Robson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Robson thuds his right hand into Dixon's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Dixon takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Robson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. A momentary lapse in concentration from Robson enables Dixon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Robson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Dixon engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Robson wants to sweep but no luck. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dixon looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Dixon works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. A nice elbow there by Dixon. Robson wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back. Dixon is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Robson has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Dixon has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Robson taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Dixon doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Joe Dixon!
