Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Grand Deluxe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jihad Joe!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deluxe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Joe looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Joe misses with a series of wild punches.
Joe tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Joe with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Deluxe tries to clinch but Joe moves out of range.
Joe misses with a looping right.
Horrible takedown by Deluxe or perhaps it was just good defense by Joe which made him look bad.
Jihad Joe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Joe moves out of range as Deluxe throws a body kick.
Joe misses with a double jab.
No luck for Deluxe with that takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Deluxe shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Joe as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Grand Deluxe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Some bone on bone action there as Deluxe checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Deluxe fails with the takedown.
Joe lands with a nice combination. Deluxe backs away looking to recover.
Joe pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Deluxe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Joe pinned against the cage. Joe gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Joe scores with a one two! Deluxe had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Joe circles away from the clinch attempt.
Deluxe closes the distance and clinches up with Joe, looking for a takedown. Deluxe pushes Joe against the ropes but Joe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Deluxe scores a takedown into full mount!
Joe is trying desperately to improve position.
Deluxe looking to isolate an arm here. Joe doesn't see it coming and as Deluxe extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Deluxe!
