Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rory Gracie (ranked 2946 p4p, 4749 weight class) and Kofi Ousmane (ranked 373 p4p, 546 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rory Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kofi Ousmane! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gracie fails to land the takedown. Gracie throws a body shot but no joy. Ousmane throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. It looked like Gracie was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ousmane closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Gracie did well to prevent Ousmane getting side control. Gracie is looking to get back to full guard here but Ousmane has managed to pass to side control instead. Gracie is letting Ousmane control him for a moment. Ousmane wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie is trying to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ousmane moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie tries to control but Ousmane manages to take his back. Gracie staying busy and making it hard for Ousmane to control. Ousmane is landing with strikes from the back. Gracie tries to break free.
What can Gracie do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gracie wants to get back to his feet. Ousmane controlling the position well here. Gracie rolled but Ousmane kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
It looks like Ousmane might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Gracie tries to break free.
Gracie wants to get back to his feet. Ousmane scores with punches and elbows.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Ousmane scores with punches to the body. Ousmane controls the position. Ousmane is punishing Gracie with some ground and pound. Ousmane controlling from the back. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kofi Ousmane dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Gracie dives in and grabs Ousmane's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ousmane pushes down on Gracie's head and hops out. Gracie tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ousmane manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Gracie looks for a takedown but Ousmane sprawls well. Ousmane throws a jab but it's blocked by Gracie. Gracie fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gracie throws a leg kick that is checked and Ousmane counters with a takedown into side control. Ousmane working the ground and pound. Ousmane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Gracie is trying to get back to half guard. Ousmane wants to control but Gracie is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ousmane is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gracie will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Gracie is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ousmane connects with a decent elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Gracie is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Gracie is trying to maintain the position but Ousmane is very close to passing his half guard. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ousmane lands a nice short elbow. Kofi Ousmane has got the better of the ground game so far. Gracie is pressing down on Ousmane's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Ousmane slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Ousmane tries to free his leg and advance position but Gracie is retaining full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Gracie controls Ousmane momentarily but Ousmane frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Ousmane wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Ousmane engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Gracie moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie tries to close the distance and clinch but Ousmane swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ousmane is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Gracie's half guard. Gracie is trying to control but can't.
Ousmane is keen to just control but Gracie is a slippery customer. Ousmane controlling the action here. Ousmane is trying to control the action in half guard but Gracie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Gracie is looking to get back to full guard here but Ousmane has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ousmane is chipping away with strikes.

Ousmane controlling from side mount. Gracie is looking for a sweep. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Gracie is trying to work for a sweep but Ousmane has mounted him! Ousmane controlling his opponent. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Kofi Ousmane showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Ousmane decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Ousmane lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Gracie trying to control from the bottom.
Ousmane is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Gracie is trying to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ousmane wants to advance to full mount but Gracie doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Ousmane has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Gracie can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ousmane controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Gracie fails with the takedown. Kofi Ousmane is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Ousmane shows good takedown defense. Ousmane keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rory Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ousmane shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gracie manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Gracie is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Ousmane rolls with it to try and escape but Gracie cranks on the arm and Ousmane is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
