Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Renato Spooner (ranked 4750 p4p, 4769 weight class) and Max Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Max Kerr!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr misses with a combination

and Spooner holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Spooner breaks the clinch.
Kerr moves to clinch but Spooner breaks away
and Spooner counters with a head kick. That will keep Kerr thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Kerr misses with a head kick.
Kerr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spooner.

Spooner drives through and clinches with Kerr against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kerr is looking to break free of the clinch but Spooner has double underhooks.

Kerr is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Spooner.

It looks like Max Kerr has been cut.

Spooner darts in and clinches Kerr up against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Spooner.
Spooner's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Spooner tries to pull guard but Kerr holds him up against the cage and eventually Spooner drops back down to his feet.

Kerr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spooner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kerr wants to get up but he can't break Spooner's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kerr would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Spooner holds on and takes a little breather.

Spooner has Kerr pressed against the cage, preventing Kerr from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Kerr wants to clinch up but Spooner keeps it at a distance.
Kerr throws a one two combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kerr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Spooner is looking to wear down Kerr with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Kerr lands a lovely overhand right.
Nice takedown defense from Kerr. No joy for Spooner on that attempt.
Kerr throws a big counter head kick but Spooner avoids it with no problem.
Spooner doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

A right-left combo lands from Kerr.
Kerr falls off balance throwing a combination
and Spooner counters with a series of strikes. Kerr will be more careful next time no doubt.
Spooner lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Spooner is defended easily by Kerr.

Spooner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Kerr circles away.
Spooner keeps the fight on the outside.
Spooner tries to counter by clinching up but Kerr breaks away and moves out of range.

Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch but Spooner swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Spooner takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spooner shoots in but Kerr avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Max Kerr comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
