Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Neves (ranked 1772 p4p, 1196 weight class) and Ramon Carlos (ranked 192 p4p, 136 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Thiago Neves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 1, fighting out of London, Ramon Carlos !
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carlos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Neves.

Neves has managed to clinch.
Neves tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Carlos smiles and moves away.
Carlos leaves Neves with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carlos throws a sloppy body shot
and Neves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
A big right from Carlos misses.
Neves looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Carlos is fending him off so far but Neves persists. Nope, Carlos circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Neves. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlos misses with a few strikes there.
Neves tries to counter by clinching up but Carlos breaks away and moves out of range.
Neves slips a jab and a cross from Carlos .

Ramon Carlos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Neves shoots in but no luck this time.

Carlos bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Neves takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Carlos paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Neves blocks a jab.
Neves tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Carlos manages to circle out of the way.
Carlos throws a lazy right hand but Neves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Ramon Carlos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Neves throws a lazy uppercut
and Carlos counters with a right hand to the body.
Neves throws an overhand right that lands on Carlos 's shoulder, as Carlos tries to avoid the shot.
Neves shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Neves has his takedown stuffed
and Carlos counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Carlos lands a head shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Carlos tries to bum rush Neves with a series of wild strikes but Neves uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Carlos tries to sprawl but Neves drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Neves looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Neves throwing shots but Carlos is blocking nicely.

Neves is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Carlos wants to improve his position but Neves is controlling well.

Neves is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are battling for position here. Carlos manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Neves stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carlos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Carlos manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Neves manages to get himself to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Carlos gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Carlos trying to control the position from guard on top but Neves is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ramon Carlos dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Carlos .
Carlos misses with a head kick.
Neves changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Carlos looks to throw the jab but Neves is out of range.
Carlos lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Carlos fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Neves tries to close the distance and clinch up but Carlos swats him away and circles back towards the center.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carlos lands with a kick to the temple. Neves shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Carlos misses with a body shot
and Neves counters with a right hand to the body.
Neves closes the distance and clinches up with Carlos , looking for a takedown. Neves pushes Carlos against the cage but Carlos circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Neves misses with a right hand
and Carlos cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Carlos throws a series of punches but Neves avoids them all with ease.

Neves closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carlos 's guard.

Carlos has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Neves off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Neves shoots in but no luck this time.
A little jabbing left from Carlos on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Carlos connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Neves momentarily.
Carlos swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Neves.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Neves tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carlos sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Neves somewhat.

Carlos rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Neves moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Neves shoots in for a takedown but Carlos shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Carlos throws a series of punches but Neves avoids them all with ease.

Neves shoots in and gets a takedown into Carlos 's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Carlos is on top in guard.

Neves is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Carlos stands and throws Neves's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Carlos takes a little break here. Neves wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Neves tries to bench press Carlos off him but Carlos keeps the position.

Carlos happy to just control the position for now.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Ramon Carlos showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Neves looks to score with a jab to the body but Carlos is just out of range.
Carlos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Neves attempts a counter takedown but Carlos avoids it well and moves away.
Neves throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Neves closes the distance looking to clinch
and Carlos counters with a lovely shot to the body.

Carlos pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Neves back to the cage. Carlos follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Carlos throws a jab when Neves was well out of range.
Neves is looking to clinch but Carlos is avoiding it.
Carlos swats away the attempt to clinch by Neves.
Neves fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carlos avoids it really well and circles away.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Carlos stuns Neves with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Nice uppercut there from Neves.
The fighters circling - Carlos throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
It looked like Neves wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Neves takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Carlos with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Neves to score with a decent uppercut.
Carlos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Neves throwing a counter right hand but Carlos manages to avoid it.
Thiago Neves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Neves is defended easily by Carlos .

Ramon Carlos comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Carlos winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Ramon Carlos was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
