PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hans Hermann Hoppe (ranked 394 p4p, 456 weight class) and Jay Simon (ranked 61 p4p, 67 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hoppe might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Wind of Change. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hans Hermann Hoppe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 7 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jay Simon!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Chris Edwards and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoppe throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Simon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

You can see the frustration on Simon's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Simon comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Simon connects with a jab.
Simon throws a jab but it's blocked by Hoppe.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hoppe fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Simon manages to avoid it.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Simon! But no joy.

Hans Hermann Hoppe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Simon escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hoppe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hoppe is working Simon over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Simon controls Hoppe momentarily but Hoppe frees himself.
