Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khaba Dagestanskiy (ranked 1729 p4p, 968 weight class) and Steven Petersen (ranked 55 p4p, 28 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Khaba Dagestanskiy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Steven Petersen! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dagestanskiy misses with a series of wild punches.
A decent looking cross lands there for Petersen. Dagestanskiy throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Steven Petersen has been cut. Dagestanskiy doesn't manage to clinch there - Petersen circles away.
Petersen stalks Dagestanskiy and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Dagestanskiy's face. Dagestanskiy staggers backwards, shaken. Petersen dodges the punch combination from Dagestanskiy.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Petersen! But no joy. Petersen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Good exchange - Dagestanskiy coming out on top. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Petersen looks to land a left hand but Dagestanskiy moved out of range nicely. Dagestanskiy takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Dagestanskiy tries to bum rush Petersen with a series of wild strikes but Petersen uses good footwork to avoid the assault. A lazy left from Petersen finds it's target. Dagestanskiy shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Petersen is trying to defend but Dagestanskiy finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Petersen is doing well to control the position and prevent Dagestanskiy from advancing to side control. Petersen is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Dagestanskiy jumps into side control! Petersen takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Dagestanskiy in side control lands a decent elbow. Dagestanskiy wants to control but Petersen is keeping him busy.

Dagestanskiy in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Petersen tries to buck Dagestanskiy off but Dagestanskiy is having none of it. Dagestanskiy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Petersen, who protects the arm well. Dagestanskiy has control of an arm but Petersen manages to advance to Dagestanskiy's back! You can see the frustration on Dagestanskiy's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Even with his hooks in, Petersen manages to miss with strikes from the back. Dagestanskiy staying busy and making it hard for Petersen to control. Petersen is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish. Petersen is looking for the choke from the back position but Dagestanskiy is controlling his hands well. Dagestanskiy trying to control but not successfully. Petersen is controlling the position but Dagestanskiy somehow manages to roll and ends up with half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Petersen is trying to control the action in half guard but Dagestanskiy is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Dagestanskiy is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Petersen's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Petersen's back! Petersen wants to escape the position.

Dagestanskiy dives in for a single leg takedown but Petersen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Petersen working aggressively here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Dagestanskiy showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Petersen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dagestanskiy is staying active underneath Petersen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Dagestanskiy is concentrating on defense, preventing Petersen from advancing position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dagestanskiy is looking to control Petersen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dagestanskiy avoid being mounted? The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. That was a close second round but I would say that Khaba Dagestanskiy will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Steven Petersen's cut. That's time! Dagestanskiy feints a jab promting Petersen to slip. Dagestanskiy then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Petersen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Petersen throws a leg kick but Dagestanskiy moved away. Dagestanskiy tests Petersen's chin there with a solid looking shot. Petersen gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Dagestanskiy has his takedown stuffed and Petersen counters with a head kick. Dagestanskiy pushes Petersen up against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Petersen is pushing Dagestanskiy up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Petersen is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Petersen receives a warning from the referee for stalling. Khaba Dagestanskiy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Petersen misses with a punch to the body.
Steven Petersen has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dagestanskiy scores with a nice hook to the head. Petersen throws a punch but it's blocked by Dagestanskiy. Dagestanskiy is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Dagestanskiy blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Khaba Dagestanskiy. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dagestanskiy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
