Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mark Gomaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Liquid Rage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomaz throws a shot to the body.
Gomaz lands with a slapping head kick.


It looks like Liquid Rage has been cut.
Gomaz throws a head kick that misses.
Gomaz misses with a straight left.
Rage shoots in but Gomaz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gomaz throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Gomaz cracks Rage with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
No joy there for Rage, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rage shoots in for a takedown but Gomaz shows good takedown defense.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Rage avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gomaz swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Rage counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gomaz wants to stand up but Rage is controlling him.
Rage passes Gomaz's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Rage is looking to advance position but Gomaz won't allow it.
Rage not doing much here.

Rage is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gomaz defends it well.
Gomaz is trying to stand back up but Rage is controlling him
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Rage working Gomaz over with strikes.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Gomaz gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Gomaz keeping moving, preventing Rage from controlling successfully.
Rage stays in close to Gomaz's body and controls the position.
Gomaz wants to stand but Rage is controlling the position.

Gomaz working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rage.
Gomaz knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rage on the ground.
Gomaz can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rage controls the pace.
Gomaz wants to stand and escape but Rage is having none of it.
Gomaz is breathing heavily.
Rage postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Gomaz wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gomaz tries to escape but Rage is in control.

Rage controlling the position from side mount.
Rage scores with a couple of short elbows.
Gomaz is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Rage is controlling him well.

Rage is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Gomaz has escaped the position, nice work there.
Rage has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gomaz pushes Rage away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Rage gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Rage cracks Gomaz with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Gomaz wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Rage is working to tighten is grip on Gomaz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Gomaz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Rage is really squeezing tight and eventually Gomaz passes out! Rage breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
