Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rufus Quinn (ranked 7103 p4p, 23537 weight class) and Dam Son (ranked 0 p4p, 769 weight class). Dam Son is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dam Son!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Son throws an overhand right that lands on Quinn's shoulder, as Quinn tries to avoid the shot.
Quinn goes for a double leg but Son avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Son continues to drive forward.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Quinn using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Son has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Quinn scores with a nice hook to the head.
Son blocking some punches.
Quinn is pushing Son up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Quinn shoots for a double leg takedown but Son sprawls well. He's pushed Quinn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Son counters with a stiff right hand.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Quinn crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Son - the referee stops the clock and Quinn gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Son. Quinn manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Quinn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Son pinned against the cage. Son gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Quinn throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Son's waist but Son gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quinn off to one side.
Son tries to work over Quinn's front leg with a kick but Quinn checks it.

Dam Son is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Son connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Quinn's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Quinn. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
