PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dylan Walsh (ranked 4431 p4p, 5020 weight class) and Angus Mcdongalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walsh comes to the cage accompanied by Irreplaceable. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dylan Walsh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Angus Mcdongalo!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, James Glass and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcdongalo fails to land the takedown.
Mcdongalo tries for a takedown but Walsh circles away easily

and Walsh counters by moving into the clinch.
Walsh is trying to pull guard but Mcdongalo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Walsh tries to circle away but Mcdongalo has him pinned against the cage.

Walsh's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walsh is defended easily by Mcdongalo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walsh gets caught napping as Mcdongalo dives in and scores a takedown. Walsh manages to retain guard.
Walsh is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Walsh wants to stand but Mcdongalo is controlling the position.

Walsh is adopting a defensive guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Mcdongalo pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Walsh closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Walsh lands in his opponent's guard.
Mcdongalo is wriggling around but Walsh manages to pass to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Walsh is trying to work for a kimura but Mcdongalo is defending well.

Walsh wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Mcdongalo uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walsh is looking to stand up but Mcdongalo won't let him.

Mcdongalo has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Walsh can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Mcdongalo tries to strike from the bottom.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mcdongalo looking for a sweep. Not yet Mcdongalo, not yet.
Walsh trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mcdongalo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Walsh dives into side control.
Mcdongalo tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Walsh wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Walsh wants to stand but Mcdongalo is controlling his arm.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
I wouldn't like to be where Mcdongalo is right now.
Mcdongalo can't do much from the bottom here.

That was a close round but I would say that Dylan Walsh will probably get the nod.

Walsh keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Mcdongalo gets to his feet. Walsh looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Mcdongalo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Mcdongalo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Walsh!

Angus Mcdongalo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Mcdongalo goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Dylan Walsh has been cut.
A nice leg kick from Mcdongalo, right into the meat of the thigh.
Mcdongalo dives in and grabs Walsh's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walsh pushes down on Mcdongalo's head and hops out.

Mcdongalo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walsh swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Walsh working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mcdongalo doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mcdongalo manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Walsh is looking to stand up but Mcdongalo isn't so interested in that idea.

Walsh looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Dylan Walsh has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Angus Mcdongalo.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mcdongalo shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Walsh napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Mcdongalo has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Walsh's face.
Walsh holds on to Mcdongalo around his waist, trying desperately to prevent any attacks.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mcdongalo won't let Walsh get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Mcdongalo is landing with some decent strikes but Walsh is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Well Mcdongalo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
