Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Clay (ranked 3677 p4p, 16312 weight class) and John Sohal (ranked 458 p4p, 695 weight class). Andrew Clay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Andrew Clay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Sohal! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clay throws a series of punches but Sohal avoids them all with ease. Clay goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Clay waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Sohal. Sohal is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Clay misses with a double jab.
And Sohal tries to counter it with a takedown but Clay pushes his down on his head and steps out. Clay misses with an uppercut. Clay scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sohal doesn't seem bothered though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clay looks to land a combination but Sohal avoids it well. Sohal feints the counter takedown. Clay misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Sohal.
Sohal is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clay lands a jab. Clay misses with a looping right. Sohal drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Clay defends it well. Clay stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Sohal is rocked! Sohal drops his hands momentarily. Clay doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Sohal staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Sohal doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Andrew Clay! Andrew Clay seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
