Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kaoru Hanayama (ranked 1375 p4p, 3169 weight class) and Liam Walker (ranked 213 p4p, 415 weight class). Hanayama comes to the cage accompanied by Plan Three - Tigress. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker misses with a left hand
and Hanayama counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Liam Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice straight punches there by Walker. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Walker.
Walker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hanayama manages to avoid it.
Hanayama stuffs the takedown attempt from Walker. Walker gets slowly back to his feet.

Walker misses with a wild body shot.
Hanayama is looking to counter punch.
Hanayama fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hanayama tries to bum rush Walker with a series of wild strikes but Walker uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Walker connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Walker tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hanayama's elbow.

Hanayama pushes Walker back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Hanayama has momentary wrist control but Walker slips an elbow through the middle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Walker is looking to work some ground and pound but Hanayama has wrist control.
Hanayama is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Hanayama lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hanayama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hanayama passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hanayama wants to lay and pray for a moment but Walker keeps working.

Hanayama works to advance to full mount. Walker defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Hanayama looking to control but Walker is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Walker is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hanayama working for a guillotine from mount but Walker is in no mood to give up.

Hanayama goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Walker is on top in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Hanayama is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hanayama tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hanayama is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Walker defends well.

Walker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Hanayama is pulling down on Walker's head. It's preventing any offense from Walker, at least for the moment.

Walker loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Walker lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Hanayama escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hanayama lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hanayama seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Hanayama stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hanayama is looking to pass into half guard but Walker pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Walker is in guard.

Hanayama looking to hit a scissor sweep but Walker is one step ahead there.
Walker working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hanayama's head.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hanayama on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Walker. Walker obviously looking to wear him down.
Hanayama closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Walker dodges the punch combination from Hanayama.
Walker tries to counter with a clinch but Hanayama shakes him off and moves away.
Hanayama bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Hanayama takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Hanayama is rocked!
Walker sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Hanayama's defenses. It connects perfectly with Hanayama's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
