Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dimitri Karelin (ranked 4570 p4p, 4609 weight class) and Clark Kent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dimitri Karelin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Clark Kent! The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Santiago Holmes and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kent is defended easily by Karelin. A momentary lapse in concentration from Kent enables Karelin to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Kent manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Kent looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Karelin content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Karelin stands up over Kent, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Karelin postures up.
Kent throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Kent really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Karelin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kent controls Karelin momentarily but Karelin frees himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Karelin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Kent's head. Karelin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Karelin lands a couple of digs. Karelin postures up.
Karelin tries to free his leg and advance position but Kent is retaining full guard. Karelin scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Karelin landing with the ground and pound. Karelin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kent is keeping the position for now. Karelin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Karelin sitting in guard here, content to control. Kent has momentary wrist control but Karelin slips an elbow through the middle. Karelin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Karelin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Karelin not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Kent looking for a guillotine here but Karelin defends easily.
Karelin gets to his feet and stands over Kent, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Kent felt that one! Karelin unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Kent from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dimitri Karelin! Dimitri Karelin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
