Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Russ Kane (ranked 4530 p4p, 4916 weight class) and Dre MacMall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Russ Kane! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dre MacMall! The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kane takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from MacMall. As MacMall looks to move away, Kane throws a big counter combo but MacMall just gets out of the way. Kane loads up on a big right hand but MacMall slips the punch. MacMall shoots in looking for a takedown but Kane manages to keep the fight standing, pushing MacMall's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. MacMall pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Kane on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. MacMall shoots in but Kane avoids the takedown attempt easily. Russ Kane has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dre MacMall. Kane takes a swing at MacMall's ribcage but misses. MacMall is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Kane with a nice calf kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. MacMall gets caught napping as Kane dives in and scores a takedown. MacMall manages to retain guard. MacMall wants to get back to his feet but Kane passes into half guard.
Kane has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Kane is in the full mount, landing strikes. MacMall wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Kane.
Kane wants to control the pace but MacMall is squirming around nicely. Kane throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. MacMall is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
MacMall really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kane. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Kane misses with a head shot.

Kane throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Kane controlling from the full mount. MacMall is looking to improve his position but Kane isn't that keen on the idea. Kane lands with some vicious ground and pound - can MacMall hang on? You get the feeling that MacMall really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Kane thowing shots but they're missing. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. MacMall holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Kane tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kane looking to control but MacMall is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. MacMall is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Kane throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Kane punching from mount but MacMall doing a good job of avoiding damage. MacMall is working to get back to half guard.
Kane raining down hammerfists from mount. Kane looking to ground and pound but MacMall is blocking nicely. Kane thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Kane throws some wild stikes that MacMall manages to avoid easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Russ Kane dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Kane tries for a takedown but MacMall sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. MacMall tries to counter with a clinch but Kane shakes him off and moves away. Kane lets loose with a powerful body kick. MacMall will feel that in the morning. Kane looks to land a body kick but MacMall moved away. Kane avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
MacMall throws a lazy head kick and Kane counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Kane. Kane gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, MacMall regains guard.
Kane trying to control the position from guard on top but MacMall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. MacMall wants to sweep here but Kane controlling him for the moment. Kane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that MacMall can do to turn this around? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kane slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. MacMall is breathing heavily. MacMall is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacMall can't do much from the bottom here. MacMall is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Kane performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kane with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kane not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kane is looking to take a break and control but MacMall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kane performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Kane thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kane throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Kane is taking a breather. MacMall says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. MacMall is looking to improve his position.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kane gets a double leg takedown into MacMall's guard. MacMall can't keep his opponent in guard - Kane advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. MacMall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kane sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. MacMall defending well though. Kane throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Kane is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
MacMall on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Russ Kane overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kane works his way into side control. The ground and pound from Kane seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Kane is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but MacMall is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Kane working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kane in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Kane trying to control the position but MacMall is working away. Kane advances to mount. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Russ Kane dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round! Kane misses with a two punch combination.
MacMall with the counter takedown but Kane avoids it easily. Russ Kane is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. MacMall shoots in for a takedown but Kane shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. MacMall looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. MacMall tries to keep at a distance but Kane has taken the fight into the clinch. MacMall stops a takedown attempt from Kane.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kane has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by MacMall after a bit of a struggle. MacMall takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. MacMall is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Kane manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kane has MacMall pulled in close to control his posture. Kane is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. MacMall presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. MacMall prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Russ Kane. That's going to take a lot out of him. Kane escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
MacMall dives in for a single leg takedown but Kane sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Kane shoots in and gets a takedown into MacMall's guard. Kane is standing up over MacMall. MacMall looks to escape but Kane dives into side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kane has knee on belly and moves into mount. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The referee warns MacMall that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Russ Kane is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Kane controlling the position easily from mount. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Kane has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Russ Kane showed his dominance in that final round. Well Kane has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
