PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brock Stone (ranked 4478 p4p, 25080 weight class) and French Idiot (ranked 0 p4p, 747 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Idiot misses with a body shot.
Stone tries to counter by clinching up but Idiot breaks away and moves out of range.
The fighters circle momentarily. Idiot darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Stone misses with a series of wild punches.
Idiot avoids the head kick by Stone.
Idiot avoids the head kick by Stone.
Idiot throws a head kick that half lands.
Stone stalks Idiot and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Idiot's face. Idiot staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like French Idiot has been cut.

Stone tries to clinch up.
Stone throws a right and a left that Idiot avoids nicely.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Stone is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Idiot.
Stone could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Idiot throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Stone jabs Idiot right on the nose. Idiot blinks but takes it well.

Nice uppercut lands for Idiot. That snapped Stone's head back.

Stone has Idiot up against the cage in a clinch.

Stone tries to pull guard but Idiot won't allow it.

Idiot's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Stone fails to land with a series of punches.
Stone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Idiot throws a counter combo.

Idiot uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Idiot just misses with a punch to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Stone instigates a clinch.
Stone prevents Idiot from breaking the clinch.
Stone is trying to pull guard but Idiot has him pressed against the cage.
Stone is working for takedown but Idiot is calmly controlling the position for now.

Idiot wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Idiot wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stone has him pressed against the cage.

Stone escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Horrible takedown attempt by Stone or perhaps it was just good defense by Idiot, which made it look bad.

Idiot tries to close the distance and clinch up but Stone swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Idiot thows a body kick. Stone tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Stone is breathing heavily.

Stone shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Idiot napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Stone avoids the strikes from the bottom by Idiot.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stone throws a strike aimed at the side of Idiot's head but Idiot avoids it well.

Idiot looking for a sweep but Stone has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Idiot is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Stone throws some wild stikes that Idiot manages to avoid easily.
Idiot is squirming around, avoiding Stone's attempts to control the action.
Idiot trying desperately to get to his feet.
Idiot tries to lock up and control but Stone gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Idiot really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Stone working for a guillotine from mount but Idiot is in no mood to give up.
Idiot is trying to escape the mount.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Stone controlling from the full mount.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Brock Stone will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on French Idiot's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Stone clinches.
Stone is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Idiot is defending well.

Stone has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Idiot uses from the top position.
Stone controls Idiot momentarily but Idiot frees himself.

Idiot is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stone is just riding it out for now. Idiot eventually gives up the hold.
Stone is looking for a sweep. Idiot is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stone desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Idiot is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stone has managed to free his arm - good work.
Stone is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Stone feints and then cracks Idiot's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Idiot down.

Stone is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Idiot gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

French Idiot comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
