Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Luis Barroso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Vicente Guevara!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guevara lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Barroso circles away quickly and effectively.
Barroso dodges the punch combination from Guevara.
Guevara fails in his attempt to clinch.
A punch combination from Guevara misses.
And Barroso counters with a quick kick to the body but Guevara blocks it.
Barroso needs to keep his hands up - Guevara had a free shot at his head there.
A slapping leg kick lands for Guevara.
Guevara throws a right and a left that Barroso avoids nicely.
Guevara keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barroso slips a jab from Guevara.
Barroso walks into a straight right hand from Guevara.
No joy there for Guevara, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Barroso thinks about countering with a head kick.
Guevara fails to land with a series of punches.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Guevara throws out a leg kick but Barroso moves out of range and Guevara only half commits.
It looked like Barroso was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Guevara misses with the combination.

Guevara instigates a clinch.
A nice left hand lands by Guevara.
Guevara throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Guevara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Guevara throws a big shot that misses.
Barroso wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Barroso scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Barroso tries to score with some ground and pound. Guevara controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Check out the look on Barroso's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

Barroso is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Guevara is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Barroso throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Guevara is looking to regain half guard here but Barroso keeps moving and retains side control.

Barroso stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Guevara throws a nice looking combination but Barroso bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Guevara tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Barroso is able to avoid easily.
Barroso tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Guevara manages to circle out of the way.

Barroso shoots in and bounces Guevara off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Guevara is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Guevara can't keep his opponent in guard - Barroso advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Barroso thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Guevara's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Barroso has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Guevara defend it? Barroso steps over the head and cranks it - Guevara is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Barroso!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Luis Barroso!
After winning the bout, Luis Barroso thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
