Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, David Cain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Hector Mendoza!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Cain manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mendoza doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nice body kick there by Mendoza.
Mendoza avoids the head kick by Cain.
Mendoza gets off balance looking for a body kick
letting Cain counter with a right hand.

It looks like Hector Mendoza has been cut.
Cain keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Mendoza or perhaps it was just good defense by Cain, which made it look bad.

Mendoza has managed to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

A head punch on the inside from Mendoza fails to land.

Mendoza breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Mendoza takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Mendoza shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cain defends it nicely.
David Cain has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hector Mendoza.

and Cain counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
David Cain is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Cain darts in and clinches Mendoza up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mendoza is trying to stall.
Cain working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Cain gets underhooks to prevent Mendoza's takedown attempt.

Cain pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

and Cain counters with a nice right hand that sends Mendoza toppling to the canvas! Mendoza scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Cain finish him?!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mendoza throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Cain's waist but Cain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendoza off to one side.

and Cain counters with a right hand to the body.
Mendoza works Cain's body with a nice hook.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mendoza tries for a takedown but Cain circles away easily
and Cain counters with a monster head kick that knocks Mendoza out cold! He topples like fallen a tree, crashing to the mat! Timbeeeeeerrr!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). David Cain!
